International Womens Day

This is just a very quick post to celebrate this day and a reminder to how amazing we are!! ESPECIALLY now that i'm a Mom (Mammy) to my beautiful lil girl Saoirse, I want to bring her up understanding no matter what she wants to do in life, she has the power to do so!! Not to limit herself and that hard work pays off. I am all about positive thinking and overcoming any obstacles that cross my path. One quote that resonates with me and may with you!

" What you think you become. What you feel you attract. What you imagine you create ~ Budda"

Remember not to be so hard on yourself, you are still loved no matter what

Oscars 2019

I never got to watch the Oscars but of course I had to check out what everybody was wearing for this special evening in Hollywood. I am posting looks that I loved, I noticed full skirts and long hemlines were a common trend. All these looks are super glamorous for me to re-create / make a similar garment BUT I did like the jacket worn by Awkwafina and I think this would be a fantastic staple piece to have in your closet!! I have never worked with sequins before and I think this may be the time for me to get over my fear and go for it! I follow the lovely faithstjules and I know she will be posting a blog about working with sequins, I will read it and get to work on picking a pattern (I kinda have one in mind Burda Sequin blazer 01/2019 #102) and sequin fabric inspired by Awkwafina's look, Cool yet Chic look :)

Gemma Chan in Valentino
Kacey Musgraves in Giambattista Valli

Kate Ballis

I have recently become a fan of this girls work, her Infra Realism project based on Palm Springs is so far my favorite. I love her style of photography and how she plays around with the light and color.
From reading about her it seems she worked under Miles Aldridge who is a UK fashion photographer / artist. Who's work is best known for his cinematic images of women. You should check her out ðŸ˜ƒ  https://www.instagram.com/milesaldridge/?hl=en

LONDON FASHION WEEK 🇬🇧

Richard Quinn A/W 2018

London born designer Richard Quinn established his label in 2016, upon graduating the Fashion MA at Central Saint Martins. Specializing in womenswear and textiles his collections are bold and emotive creating a forward thinking unafraid vision. This collection was made up of 29 beautiful pieces, if you love color/texture/prints as much as myself then you will adore this collection. I am not surprised he won an award for Best British Design presented by Queen Elizabeth II.

He is a designer to definitely watch out for, I can see another Alexander McQueen in the making. His work is fashion forward and from reading how he was throughout the process he seemed very calm and confident in his work!! Which for a creative person can be a hard thing. Introducing your work to outsiders can  be a difficult as you are automatically being judged / criticized by others. As everybody knows the fashion world is a cut throat industry. You should check out his Instagram account  https://www.instagram.com/richardquinn1/?hl=en, I love all his content!! ðŸ’–💖💖
